Quickly Learn To Make Soap With This Video Tutorial.
"Exposed!
How a Beginner From San Antonio With Absolutely No Experience Learned to Make Perfect, Bath-&-Body Quality Soap in No Time at All!"
Dear Aspiring Soapmaker,
So you want to learn to make soap? Whether you are making it for yourself or as a gift or maybe as a business, there is one simple truth. You're going to have fun doing it!
There is a problem, though. Making soap is a complicated process and becomes extremely difficult if you don't know what you are doing. Add to that the use of lye, a caustic chemical, and you have the potential for a dangerous situation to arise.
Unless, of course, you have proper instruction.
Sit back and relax because I'm about to tell you the story of the Soap Making Fun: Your Visual Guide to the Cold Process video. That's a lot to say (and type) so we will just call it the Cold Process Video Package=)
You Will LOVE Making Soap!
A while back, I became infatuated with soap making. I mean think about it. You take oils from plants, a substance that can cause serious chemical burns to your skin, and water. You mix them up, throw in a little magic and...
BAM! You have soap!
How amazing is that? And we aren't talking about just any soap. No, we are talking about extraordinary soap. This is the kind of stuff that you could NEVER get in a grocery store. I mean this soap that you make at home would often fetch high dollar amounts in those bath and body shops. This is the kind of soap that makes people's eyes light up when they smell it. Once people find out that you make soap, they will beg you to make a batch for them. I'm serious!
So you can see why I enjoyed it so much. In fact, I started to build a website dedicated to soap making. I even made a newsletter and everything.
(By the way, if you haven't already, you can sign up for my FREE newsletter in the top right.)
Want Your Soap Making Questions Answered?
They Wondered Why Their Soap
Turned Out Like This.
Anyway, as people signed up for my newsletter I started to get questions about soap making. All kinds of questions! Everything from where to buy molds to why their soap smelled funny.
While the questions had a wide array, I started to notice a common problem. Many people where trying to learn how to make soap from books and online but they weren't being successful. Trying to learn soap making like that is really tough. If you have ever tried to learn to recognize "trace" from a picture in a book or on a website, you know exactly what I mean.
Sure, reading about a subject is a good way to learn for some things. History is a good example. But when you are trying to learn a process, sometimes you just have to see it to really grasp the concepts.
Soap making is like that. It's just one of those things that some people have to see in order to learn. That's not true for everyone, some can pick it up right out of a book. But for many, learning visually with this hobby is what works the best.
I'm one of those, I had to see soap making in action before I could learn it.
A Video That Will Teach You All That You Need to Know!
One day it dawned on me. The best way to help the readers of my newsletter (and anyone else who wants to learn to make soap) is to make a video. This video would show the entire soap making process from start to pouring into the molds.
Anyone who had an Internet connection and a desire to make soap would be able to learn. They could go from no knowledge of soap making to being able to make high-end, super-great-smelling, nourishing soap at home from the lessons taught in the video.
Do you want to make high-end, super-great-smelling,
nourishing soap at home? Keep reading!
"This is going to be great!" I thought. "I'm going to teach the world to make soap!"
After I got over my delusions of grandeur I started to make some decisions. One of the biggest things I was concerned about was the audio. The audio had to be perfect. Of course the video quality had to be great but the audio had to be flawless.
I made sure that the equipment to shoot the video would be studio-quality with the proper lighting, audio equipment, and professional crew to do this right. This was NOT going to be an amateur, handheld-camcorder-home-video affair. Not on my watch!
Step-By-Step Instruction from a Soapmaking Master!
Next was the instruction. I wanted to make sure that those who watched the video were getting the best education possible. That would mean getting someone with more soap making experience than I had.
What was needed was a veteran soapmaker.
So I teamed up with Soapmaking Master Alec Whitehouse. With over ten years experience making soap and running a soap business, he was a perfect fit. In those ten years he only had ONE failed batch of soap! This was definitely a man who would be able to provide viewers with the caliber education I was looking for. (Want to know what happened with that batch? Read on...)
We chose a recipe that would be very easy for beginners to master so that the viewer could really grasp the concepts. This way they could quickly move on to more complicated recipes.
But basic does not mean mediocre.
Nope. This was some of those smell-good, make-eyes-light-up, high dollar soaps I was talking about. And someone with absolutely no soap making experience would be able to make it after watching the video!
The shoot was great and my editor and I spent months getting things right.
What Will They Think?
Now I was nervous. I take that back. I was TERRIFIED.
What if it didn't work? What if I did a horrible job and no one learned to make soap and unsubscribed from my newsletter?
The video was finished and I created some extras to go with it but I was afraid to release it. Eventually I had a moment of bravery and told the newsletter readers the release date. As the days counted down to the release, I was a wreck. It had been a long time since I'd been that nervous about anything.
Release day! I come home from work and send out the email letting everyone know where to order. "Here goes," I said as I clicked the send button. "…hope they like it."
Before the Video, They Couldn't Make Soap.
After the Video, They Were Truly Soapmakers!
THEY LOVED IT!
Seriously, read this stuff. This is what people had to say!
...It turned out perfectly!!!!!! It was all because of the video...
I am very happy that I purchased my soap making video. The video was great, I could actually see all the steps on how to make soap.
If anyone is interested in cold process (CP) soapmaking, I HIGHLY recommend this video. It's a great teaching tool. I was in search of a "How To" video on soapmaking for several months but it seemed as if none were out there. I was desperate so I continued to search. I finally came across the "Soap Making Fun" website and it was as if I hit the jackpot. All the answers to my silent questions were there including the video. I purchased the video, took notes, watched the video again and made a wonderful batch of Patchouli & Herb soap. It turned out perfectly!!!!!! It was all because of the video. It teaches you more than how to make soap but gives you great tips, explains soap terminology, and what was really important for me, was safety measures while working with sodium hydroxide.
If you've never made soap before but you're interested and not sure how or what to do, this video will give you everything you need to know to make a sucessful batch of soap. It's the best soap investment I've made because without it I would still have to purchase soap/detergent bars from the store. This way, I get to choose what goes in my soap and on my body!!!!!
Thank you!

...We couldn't Have done it without your Video!
Hi Jon.
We made our first batch of soap the other night, and the bars came out great! We couldn't have done it without your video! The two books we'd previously read helped, but we were still afraid to try soap making until we watched your video. I wish we'd found your video before buying the books - we would have saved quite a bit of money!
Thanks!
- Tricia, CO
And this isn't even all of the feedback I received! Needless to say I was ecstatic and have been ever since releasing the video. The great feedback keeps coming and new people everyday learn how to make soap.
